I tried to use the local driveline shop to repair this BMW's driveshaft, one
universal joint was tight...and it caused a slight wobble in the steering wheel
at highway speed
This did not work out at all!
driveshaft out; sent in to the local the local Lindsay driveline shop shop driveshaft
installed & UN-DRIVABLE - indy repairshop says it could be something else
driveshaft out; sent back to the local Lindsay driveline shop - they say now
it's balanced and better than new - and no-charge for balancing - indy

So I buy another 328i sedan, same thing, slight wobble in steering wheel BUT a very loose wobble at launch. This time I purchased a used driveshaft in the GTA and took it to Goodwin Metals in Peterborough for a pre-installation assessment (these are the folks whom measured the the local Lindsay driveline shop repaired shaft to be .070 out of spec THE THIRD TIME IT CAME OUT OF THE CAR)
Needless to say the local Lindsay driveline shop will not see any more work from this household
