DOS virus warning updates

To omit a directory from TM2009 scanning:
Click on Virus & Spyware Controls > Protection Against Viruses & Spyware > Settings
Put a checkmark on Infected files and suspected spyware
Then click on Advanced Settings
Select Specify targets that you choose, then click on Select

To omit a program from TM2009 scanning
Click on Viruses and Spyware control tab - Prevent Unauthorized Changes
Exception List - Add the program you want to add by clicking Add Program button

Personal Firewall Controls.
Click on Personal Firewall.
Click on Settings.
Click on Advanced Settings.
Click on Program Control tab.
Click on Add.
Description:
Click on Browse then locate the .exe file of the program.
Settings: Simple
Firewall Response: Allow
Click Ok.

TrendMicro 2008 Remote Desktop Personal Firewall Control Rule
1.	Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console by doing any of the following:

	•	Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Internet Security.
	•	Double-click the Trend Micro Internet Security icon on the lower right corner of your screen.

2.	Click Home Network & Firewall Controls on the left panel.

3.	Under Personal Firewall, click Settings.



4.	Click Advanced Settings.

5.	Click the Network Protocol Control tab.

6.	Click Add.

7.	Create a new rule with the following settings:

		Description: Remote Desktop Connection Connection: Incoming Response: Allow Protocol: TCP Ports: (Specified ports) 3389 Types: IP address (IPv4) IP address: (type the IP address of the computer to which you want to connect)



8.	Click OK three times.

Problem:

After installing Trend Micro Internet Security 2008 on my computer, I can no longer use Remote Desktop Connection to connect to other computers. What should I do?

Solution:


This issue occurs because the Trend Micro Internet Security Personal Firewall is blocking incoming traffic to your computer. To use Remote Desktop Connection, do either of the following:
•	Decrease the Security Level of the Personal Firewall
•	Create a new Personal Firewall Control Rule

Decrease the Security Level of the Personal Firewall
1.	Open the Trend Micro Internet Security main console by doing any of the following:

	•	Click Start > Programs or All Programs > Trend Micro Internet Security > Trend Micro Internet Security.
	•	Double-click the Trend Micro Internet Security icon on the lower right corner of your screen.

2.	Click Home Network & Firewall Controls on the left panel.

3.	Under Personal Firewall, click Settings.



4.	Under Security Level of the Personal Firewall Profile, move the slider bar to Low.

5.	Click OK to save your settings.

6.	Close the Trend Micro Internet Security main console
