If you're making this around a big holiday season like
Christmas, buy this Knorr Veg soup mix ahead of time because everyone runs out of stock on this item! The pumpernickel loaf freezes ok too; the best we've found in town is from Mr Grocer's or Buns Master behind Zellers (Yes I'm aware that we have no Mr Grocers OR Zellers but anyone old enough to be making this knows exactly where I'm speaking of!!!)We carve out the middle of the round loaf and put the dip inside the hollow, NOTE: this dip takes a few hours to meld the flavors so make the dip a day before; ALSO the frozen chopped spinach takes overnight in the frig to defrost...
1 (10 oz.) pkg. frozen chopped spinach, thawed and drained

1 can water chestnuts, diced (we use two)
1 env. Knorr vegetable soup mix or Hidden Valley Ranch Party Dip mix
1 round loaf pumpernickel, 7-grain or other whole grain bread (we use two)
